The Capitol Civic Center in Manitowoc is preparing to host their first show since the start of the pandemic, “Sputnik Manitowoc”.
The show, performed by the Let Me Be Frank players, is a musical comedy detailing a fictional story about JFK doppelgänger, the Mayor of Manitowoc, “DFK,” and his Marilyn Monroe-ish secretary try to convince Russian proteges Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale that Manitowoc should keep the space gem Sputnik, which did land in the city in 1962 in real life.
To encourage social distancing, the Capitol is limiting each show to a maximum of 250 guests, and all volunteers and staff will be required to have their temperatures checked as they arrive and will wear face coverings while in the building.
Tickets for the Oct. 15 and 17 performances will be available at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 8.
