The W-I-A-A reports 68 percent of the state’s football teams have opted to play during the fall season.
The rest will compete in the alternate season starting next March.
Tuesday was the deadline for the schools to declare which season they would participate in.
The earliest practice date for the fall sports of football, boys soccer, and boys and girls volleyball is next Monday.
The W-I-A-A executive staff is using the data from the schools to create postseason opportunities for a tournament or culminating event.
