A 40-year-old male accused of stabbing a 32-year-old man last month in Manitowoc has been bound over for trial on a charge of First-Degree Intentional Homicide.
Craig Holtz of New Holstein appeared in Manitowoc County Circuit Court Wednesday morning for a preliminary hearing where it was determined that there’s enough evidence to prove that he purportedly committed the crime.
Police were dispatched to the 1000 block of Marshall Street the night of August 20th for a complaint of a man being stabbed over what authorities believe was a “drug deal gone bad”. Upon arrival they located the victim collapsed outside a residence. Holtz had fled the scene to Manitowoc’s northside before officers arrived where he taken into custody. The victim was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. No other information including the identity of the deceased is being released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.
Holtz remains in the County Jail and is due back in court for an arraignment hearing October 1st.
