After one season on the Green Bay Packers practice squad, it looked like Kabion Ento was going to make the 53-man roster this time, but his arrival is going to be delayed by a broken foot he suffered during practice last week.
Ento had surgery Wednesday and may be placed on injured reserve, ending his season.
Coaches say he was making an impact and appeared to be in the mix for one of the roster spots at cornerback.
The Packers’ first-team lineup is set at the position, but they are thin.
It is possible a one-year deal could be offered to Tramon Williams, who is still looking for a job.
Green Bay has given no indication it will go that route yet.
