
In local baseball over the weekend, the Manitowoc Bandits followed up their regular season and playoff titles in the Shoreland League by winning the 6th annual Lakeshore Invitational Tournament.
The Bandits knocked-off Little Chute in the L-I-T championship game, 12-5, behind a complete game-10-strikeout effort by winning pitcher Luke Mandich.
Earlier in the tournament at Municipal Field, the Bandits edged the Branch Blaze 7-6 and Little Chute defeated Branch 8-2.
Manitowoc’s Jackson Schmitz was named the tournament MVP, after the Bandits catcher went 5-8, with 2-RBI’s and 3-runs scored.
