Sixth District Congressman Glenn Grothman has introduced the “Epi for Dilly Act”, a measure that will incentivize states to allow good Samaritans to save lives.
A news release from the republican representative’s office this morning (Monday) stated the bill is inspired by Dillon Mueller, a Mishicot native who tragically passed away in 2014 at the age of 18. Dillon was unable to receive Epinephrine in a timely manner after being stung by a bee and falling into a coma, due to anaphylaxis.
A version of Grothman’s bill has already been signed into law in Wisconsin and two other Midwest states with overwhelming bipartisan support. The legislation would make Epinephrine training more widely available, enabling more individuals to prevent tragedies involving anaphylaxis from occurring.
