The city of Manitowoc has been blessed throughout its’ history with some outstanding basketball players and teams, and Mark Miller, Chief Editor of Wisconsin Basketball Yearbook has done his research in putting together an All-Time Manitowoc basketball team.
His first team unit includes Bob Sullivan, Brad Jergenson, Pete Hansen, Paul Meany, and Ben Stelzer. Stelzer, a 2011 Roncalli High School grad, is the city’s all-time leading scorer with 1,966 points, while the other four men on that list were 1st team Associated Press All-State selections.
Mark Miller’s second-team All-Manitowoc squad features Nathan Zastrow, John Lallensack, Jim Behnke, Dick Hall and Rick Fischer.
Members of the third-team unit are: Neal Krajnik, Al Zipperer, Andy Jahnke, John Hopf and Justin Lettenberger.
Manitowoc’s All-Time fourth team is composed of Rocky Jiroch, Greg Schrimpf, Trey Zastrow, Chombi Lambert and Mark Stelter.
Trey Zastrow is 2nd all-time on the city scoring list at 1,953, while Stelzer, a 1978 graduate of Lutheran High School, is 3rd leading career scorer with 1,896 points.
