More details have been released regarding the stabbing incident in Manitowoc last week which resulted in the death of a 32-year-old man.
Reports indicate that the suspect, 40-year-old Craig W. Holtz, went to the still unnamed victim’s apartment in the 1000 block of Marshall Street with the intent to buy Methamphetamine for the resident.
The sale fell through, and Holtz continued to hang out with the eventual victim, the renter of the apartment and another individual. At some point, the victim and Holtz got into a verbal argument which turned physical, before Holtz stabbed the victim in the chest.
Before fleeing the scene, Holtz reportedly said “If you come towards me I’ll stick you again.”
Police were called, and the victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Holtz was later located, and has been charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide, as well as one count each of Felony and Misdemeanor Bail Jumping. Holtz is scheduled to be in court on Monday for his initial appearance.
This is the firsts murder case in Manitowoc since the September 9th, 2018 deaths of 19-year-old Jocelyn and 51-year-old Richard Miller.
