Over the past few days, many government leaders at both the state and federal level have been voicing their opinions on the civil unrest and destruction in Kenosha, and now 6th District Congressman Glen Grothman has voiced his.
In a news release, Grothman expressed his sadness and displeasure in the entire situation.
“While we have seen real examples of police violence and brutality, we have also seen examples of police confrontations in which officers have been vilified and judged guilty before all of the facts have come in,” Grothman wrote. “I am very disappointed in elected officials and celebrities who have been quick to convict law enforcement in the court of public opinion while knowing minimal information about the situation.”
He went on to say that if the facts point to a crime being committed, in any situation, “justice should and will be carried out by the American judicial system”, not by the public.
