Wisconsin Lutheran College says Vice President Mike Pence will not deliver the commencement address Saturday following the police shooting of Jacob Blake and civil unrest.
The college said in a statement, “after further review with careful considering of the escalating events in Kenosha, the WLCC Board of Regents and college’s administration have jointly decided to present a different speaker instead of the Vice President of the United States.” The Reverend Mark Jeske of St. Marcus Lutheran Church will replace Pence.
The vice president’s chief of staff Marc Short said today the N-B-A protests over the police shooting in Kenosha are “absurd and silly.”
