A group of roughly 50 protesters gathered on the steps of the Manitowoc County Courthouse yesterday evening to voice their opposition to the shooting of Jacob Blake in Kenosha on Sunday.
The Lakeshore’s United Visionaries organized the protest, and a representative grabbed a microphone to lead the group in several chants including “No justice! No peace!” and “Black Lives Matter!”
Governor Tony Evers went to Twitter in support of the movement, saying, “We stand with all those who have and continue to demand justice, equality, and accountability for black lives in our country.”
Some of the protesters in Manitowoc went to Kenosha to continue to show support for the Black Lives Matter Organization and the family of Jacob Blake.
More violence occurred overnight in the city, with a strip of businesses in a central residential neighborhood getting set on fire.
