A Darlington police officer was treated at a hospital for smoke inhalation he suffered while evacuating residents from a Sunday house fire.
One of the residents was treated at the scene by emergency medical services.
Crews were dispatched to a three-unit apartment building in Darlington Sunday at about 3:30 a-m.
A preliminary investigation suggests one of the tenants in the building fell asleep while cooking.
The officer was treated and released. No serious injuries were reported.
