September is National Service Dog Month and the K9 Unit of the Manitowoc Police Department is celebrating with Dine 4 The K9.
From Sept. 2nd to Sept. 30th 22 participating local restaurants throughout Manitowoc County, will be sponsoring a specific day — one restaurant per day — and donating a percentage of that day’s total receipts back to the Manitowoc Police Department K9 Unit.
In a post in the Police Section of Manitowoc.org, it states, “Our fundraising allows us to maintain a multi-unit K9 team and to cover daily/operating costs of the program. These funds cover specialized veterinary care for the K9’s, police vehicles, necessary equipment for the K9 Units, training and certifications that are necessary to maintain the effectiveness of the teams and other miscellaneous expenses to support the program.”
