Contract talks between the City and the Manitowoc Police Union have stalled. Mayor Justin Nickels says that has been put on file.
“There was an agreement that the Council had on their end, that went to a vote to the Police Union. The Police Union ultimately voted it down, so we are kind of two steps back with the Police Union,” Nickels explained. “We still have some time before the contract officially ends at the end of this year sometime, but at of right now there is now agreement between the union and management.”
No details were given on so-called “minor sticking points” but the Mayor is confident That “things will be ironed out soon.”
