Big Ten Conference Commissioner Kevin Warren wants to end all the speculation. Warren says the decision to postpone fall sports “will not be revisited.”
Because leagues like the SEC and Big 12 are moving ahead on a 2020 fall football season, there had been discussion that Big Ten leaders would change their minds.
Warren released an open letter to “the Big Ten Community” Wednesday citing several reasons the decision stands.
He pointed to transmission rates continuing to rise “at an alarming rate,” medical staff members saying the interventions planned wouldn’t be adequate, and there being too much that isn’t known about the coronavirus.
