Manitowoc County District Attorney Jaclyn LaBre is pushing for Timothy Haushcultz’s trial to stay in Manitowoc County.
This is in direct opposition to Haushcultz’s lawyer, who requested the use of jurors from another county if the case goes to trial, claiming the news headlines have been inflammatory towards her client. The attorney said that stories written by the Herald Times Reporter portrays her client in the worst possible light, making a fair trial impossible.
LaBre disagreed, saying the stories simply tracked the court proceedings, and were not overwhelmingly inflammatory in nature.
Hauschultz is facing charges in the death of 7-year-old Ethan Hauschultz, who died in April of 2018 after being forced to carry a heavy log around the Hauschultz property.
