Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett says he wants to keep the national focus on his city, even though the Democrat National Convention and the 50,000 people expected to attend have vanished.
Barrett gaveled-in Tuesday night’s D-N-C ceremony. National viewers didn’t see much of Cream City Monday.
Barrett says he thinks Milwaukee has been a very good partner for Democrats.
The coronavirus pandemic put a whole new face on this week’s event.
Barrett and most local officials are still hoping the work of local organizers will make other event planners aware of what Milwaukee has to offer.
