Global Trade Magazine has named Sheboygan as one of the top 20 cities in the U.S. for manufacturers.
According to the magazine, more than 11 million Americans worked in the manufacturing sector in 2016, but while manufacturing was the heart of the American economy a century ago, today it’s far more select.
The article includes the area surrounding Sheboygan as well, including the Kohler Company, noting that they are the area’s largest employer, with more than 5,000 workers, according to the Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation.
