Five hundred workers are on the job at Amazon’s new fulfillment center in Beloit.
The massive facility in southern Wisconsin marked its first day of operation Sunday.
Employees in the fulfillment center pack and ship large items like patio furniture, bicycles, large household goods and sports equipment, plus hundreds of other items.
The company still has positions open and is accepting online applications with full-time employees starting at $15-an-hour and geting benefits.
The number of workers on-site is expected to spike during the holiday shopping season.
