It’s that time of year again when officers in the Manitowoc Police Department crack down on drunk driving through the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over Campaign.
About every three hours in Wisconsin, someone is killed or injured in an alcohol-related crash. Drivers impaired by alcohol or other drugs pose a serious hazard to themselves, their passengers and everyone else along our roadways.
As part of their year-round public safety efforts, the MPD will join law enforcement agencies across Wisconsin during the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign from August 21 through Labor Day (September 7, 2020).
This is not about stopping, citing or arresting motorists, but rather saving lives and preventing tragedies.
The MPD is asking citizens to join the battle against drunk driving by never allowing anyone to drive while impaired.
