Manitowoc’s Clipper City Chordsmen have moved to a new home. After nearly 5-years in the Generose Center on the campus of the recently-closed Holy Family College, the local Barbershop Chorus has moved to a new rehearsal space at 1501 Marshall Street in Manitowoc.
Past President Jim Rasmus said they explored over ‘40’ possible sites in Manitowoc County before selecting the space offered by non-profit organization, Grow It Forward, at the corner of South 15th & Marshall Streets. Rasmus explains the former church “will provide us a great place to rehearse and meet once we are able to get back together again.” He added, “Becoming a part of the Grow It Forward community is important to our members. Also, the warm welcome we have received from their CEO and Founder, Amber Daugs, was really inspiring to us.”
The Clipper City Chordsmen is an all male a cappella singing group of 40 members ranging in age from 18-to-90, and is in its’ 75th year as a Manitowoc County organization. Members meet weekly at 7pm Tuesdays for currently virtual rehearsals. They look forward to being able to resume singing in-person at their new home they share with Grow It Forward.
