The Hiking and Biking Trail through Lakeshore Park and the grounds of the Lester Public Library in Two Rivers will be dedicated in the memory of Patrick Gagnon who passed away in February at the age of 70.
City Manager Greg Buckley says the public is invited to gather tomorrow at 1:30pm at the Lester Public Library. Buckley spoke highly of Gagnon with SeehaferNews.com saying, “Patrick was an integral part of so many things in Two Rivers. Longtime Library Baord member, Library Board President, Council member, Board of Education, longtime history professor at Silver Lake College.”
Gagnon, a 1967 graduate of Two Rivers High School, served on the Two Rivers Board of Education from 1979 to 1994 and was employed at SLC for 37 years with a long tenure as history professor before retiring in 2013. He was a member of the Two Rivers City Council from 2015 to 2020 and served on the boards of the Two Rivers Manitowoc and Wisconsin Historical Societies. “His family members from out of town are going to be in the area,” Buckley explained, along with members of the city council, staff, library board, and “anybody whose life was touched by that great man.”
“Remembering Patrick Gagnon” is being hosted by Two Rivers City Government.
