The Shoreland League Championship Series resumes tonight at Highbridge Field in Denmark as the host Devilbears look to close out the defending champion Manitowoc Bandits in game two of the best of three series.
Denmark came to Municipal Field and knocked off the Bandits 1 to 0 Wednesday night in a pitcher’s duel as Wes Mlezlvia threw eight shoutout innings limiting Manitowoc to three hits while striking out eleven. Cole Paplham pitched the ninth stranding the tying run at second to earn the save. 2020 Shoreland Pitcher of Year and League MVP Luke Mandich was outstanding throwing a complete game allowing just a run on six hits-fanning eleven Devil Bears.
The Bandits turn to Hilbert grad Adam Dietrich, who led the Shoreland League in strikeouts to bring the series back to Municipal Field for a third and deciding game tomorrow night. First pitch from Denmark is 7:30pm and you can hear the play-by-play on 97.1 WCUB and cubradio.com with Bandits “ON DECK” at 7:15pm.
