A fire at a Chilton business has resulted in two firefighters needing medical attention.
Reports indicate that the fire broke out at around 1:30 yesterday afternoon at Kaytee Products.
The Chilton Fire Department stated on Facebook, “Fire crews encountered heavy smoke, while the fire was contained to process equipment. The sprinkler system was activated and contained the fire and prevented further extension.”
Two firefighters were treated for injuries, one with an ankle injury, and one with heat exhaustion.
The damage to the structure was estimated to be around $75,000, but a cause was not released.
Eight other fire departments assisted at the scene, along with several ambulance services.
