Hamann Construction is wrapping up the latest in a line of expansion projects at the Briess Malt & Ingredients Company in Manitowoc.
In November of 2017, Briess selected Hamann to expand its custom barley processing and malting operation facilities in multi-year phases at its downtown location on Jay Street.
Work involved demolition of an aging structure, replacement and updates to underground water and sewer, work on infrastructure, masonry and mechanical, installation of four custom roasters, construction of grain silos and a warehouse/main tower, and creation of a modern facility for an automated packaging line for the production and packaging of specialty roasted malts.
A rail building was also added for on/off railcar loading of materials along the Lake Michigan shore.
Hamann also constructed a new Insta-Grains® grain processing facility for Briess on the campus of their main headquarters in Chilton.
