The number of Negative COVID-19 tests is approaching 11,000 in Manitowoc County, despite some lags in testing.
Emergency Services Director Travis Waack explains that those lags don’t mean that the testing has stopped. “There have been some spiritic shortages that have delayed some of the pre-operative, or some tests with non-symptomatic patients with some health care providers,” Waack told SeehaferNews.com.
As far as area hospitals are concerned, Waack says the hospitals do have plenty of space for new patients if it were to be needed. Waack reported, “In the 10 northeast Wisconsin hospitals that we look at, we do have 35 total COVID patients, and 10 of those 35 are in the ICU.”
That number has remained pretty steady throughout the pandemic.
Waack also reported that there are 46 ICU bed available throughout Northeast Wisconsin.
