Protests and the potential for violence are just two of the reasons Kewaskum Village Trustee Dave Spenner is warning his town’s residents to stay away from Milwaukee during the Democratic National Convention. Spenner says an unsuspecting driver or pedestrian could find themselves in the middle of a protest and, while some are peaceful, some are dangerous. He also points to the withdrawal of dozens of police departments who were going to provide convention security. Spenner is a former Racine police chief. He says the demotion of Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales led him to speak out.
