Space in Greendale’s Southridge Mall could be repurposed into a distribution hub for Amazon.
The Milwaukee Business Journal reports the online giant is in talks about taking over some of the mall vacant department store space.
A fulfillment center wouldn’t drive shoppers to the mall owned by Simon Property Group, but it would create new jobs and give the owner a tenant during a tough economic time for shopping malls.
The talks reportedly are focused on space occupied by J-C Penney and Sears stores.
