An 11-year-old Madison girl has been critically wounded in a shooting between two cars on the city’s east side.
The child suffered a head wound just before noon. Madison Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway called it an “absolutely senseless and unacceptable act” at a Tuesday news conference with police.
Witnesses tell police multiple shots were fired from one vehicle aimed at another. Investigators think the man driving the vehicle carrying the victim was the intended target.
There was another report of shots fired from one vehicle aimed at another early Tuesday morning.
Investigators are working to determine if the shootings are connected.
