Citizens in Two Rivers are spilt on the issue of whether to allow dogs in Neshotah Park.
City Manager Greg Buckley says an ordinance was changed a couple of years ago to allow them in the park but only the beach defined as the area between the parking lots and the water between 6 and 10 a.m.
Buckley called this a compromise.
“I don’t have any respect for the people who can’t pick up after their dogs,” Buckley told SeehaferNews.com. “As a long time pet owner, it makes you mad because like so many other things in life, the people that are so inconsiderate as to not follow the rules, or not pick it up on private property, you just spoil it for everybody.”
We asked the City Manager is Two Rivers City Government will intervene. “Right now, I don’t see that changing,” he replied. “We can add some signage. I do think we need to…do a little enforcement on dogs just running on the beach or being on the beach when they are not supposed to, but it’s a balancing act.”
Citizens are encouraged to contact the City Council if they witness any violation of the ordinance.
