A Manitowoc man was taken into police custody over the weekend after he allegedly threatened and strangled the mother of his child.
Officers in the Manitowoc Police Department were dispatched to the victim’s mother’s residence on Sunday after the victim reported the abuse.
The victim told officers that the 19-year-old father of her child had punched a wall near her before she drove him to his father’s home in the 900 block of South 23rd Street.
While they were approaching the residence, the man reportedly reached over and began strangling her causing her to nearly hit a parked car.
As the victim drove away from the residence, the suspect threw a stereo at her car, striking it in the rear.
The man was arrested on charges of Disorderly Conduct and Criminal Damage to Property, each with Domestic Violence Orders, Strangulation and Suffocation, and two counts of Bail Jumping.
