The Fire and Police Commission has demoted Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales, saying he “failed” the city.
Commission members had harsh words for the chief who is less than a year into a four-year term. He was demoted to captain.
Some members accused Morales of repeatedly lying and at least one referred to ethical lapses and flawed decisions.
The former chief’s attorney wouldn’t rule out taking the city to court to get his job back.
Assistant Chief Michael Brunson Senior was named acting chief by a unanimous vote at Thursday night’s meeting.
