A Green Bay woman who was facing child neglect charges, has pleaded no contest.
Police were called to St. Mary’s Hospital on May 27th, 2017 on a report of deceased child. The child was brought to the hospital by her parents and was covered in bruises.
Sarah Kairys, the mother of the child, told officers that she had fallen down the

stairs, but the father, Juan Maravilla, admitted to kicking the young girl.
The child suffered multiple injuries, including two broken ribs, and died due to a perforated bowel.
Kairys will be sentenced on October 9th, while Maravilla, who was convicted of causing the child’s death, will be sentenced on Friday.
