After a month-long investigation, it was determined that Officer Bryan Pray of the Sheboygan Police Department will not be facing any charges after he shot and killed a 32-year-old man last month.
Sheboygan County District Attorney Joel Urmanski issued a statement which said that after reviewing all the evidence in the case, which include body cam footage from Officer Pray, that the officer was not wrong in his use of deadly force.
Officer Pray arrived on the scene of a disturbance between two people on July 2nd, and upon his arrival, the two individuals split apart. Officer Pray followed one of the men, later identified as Kevan Ruffin Jr, who had an object in his hand.
Ruffin would not listen to orders, and began to approach Officer Pray, who used his Taser on Ruffin. Ruffin continued to move quickly toward Officer Pray while holding two metal pronged weapons.
Officer Pray warned Ruffin that if he didn’t stop, who was going to be shot, which is exactly what ended up happening.
