The Manitowoc Bandits kicked off the 2020 Shoreland League Playoffs with a bang yesterday against the Casco A’s.
A grand slam in the 5th inning by Trent Van Ess helped give the Bandits a 11-2 win in the first game in the three-game series. Van Ess ended the game with 5 RBIs.
Luke Mandich had another solid performance on the mound, going 7 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits. Ian Dell took the loss for the A’s.
The series now moves to Casco Friday night, with the On Deck pregame show beginning at 7:15 PM, first pitch at 7:30.
If the Bandits win that game, they advance to the Shoreland League Championship, where they will face the Denmark Devilbears.
Denmark punched their ticket with a 13-1 win over Algoma last night.
