According to Lt. Mark Schroeder of the Manitowoc Police Department, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they will not be holding their annual bow hunting meeting to discuss hunting within the city limits for the 2020 archery season.
In a news release, Lt. Schroeder said that all bow hunting and landowner applications need to be returned to the Manitowoc Police Department by September 4th in order to be processed by the start of the archery season.
If applications are received after this date, there may be a delay in approval.
In his report, he also says that 373 deer have been tagged within the City limits since 2007, 113 of them being bucks, and 260 does. 569 vehicle vs deer accidents have also been reported in the same time frame.
