A 35-year-old St. Nazianz man is in custody facing several child-sex related charges after a nearly two-month investigation by the Manitowoc Police Department.
Paul D. Otto is charged with Using a Computer to facilitate a sex crime-Child enticement and contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
Police say their investigation began in June when the grandmother of a runaway juvenile girl told them that she had been having “inappropriate” discussions and sending nude photos to adult men via her cell phone. A subsequent search of the phone uncovered digital evidence of child pornography along with numerous sexual social media conversations consisting of child enticement tied to Otto.
MPD Detectives working in an undercover capacity used the girl’s social media accounts to communicate with Otto who agreed to meet the minor female for “sexual activity” on Monday. Officers arrived at the “undisclosed location” where they took him into custody without incident.
Otto scheduled for a bail hearing this afternoon.
