The Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office says it made no arrests during last weekend’s Sand Bar Bash 2020 on Lake Butte des Morts because no laws were broken.
Big crowds attended the annual events just hours after the governor’s face mask mandate went into effect.
A lot of people are mad in Winnebago County, but because the event was outdoors, the order wasn’t violated.
Pictures and videos shared on social media show big crowds of people without face masks and apparently making no effort at social distancing.
The Sand Bar Bash Facebook page has been disabled and organizers haven’t responded to reporters’ inquiries.
The charity fundraiser is held to benefit the Old Glory Honor Flight.
