A relatively small, unassuming Manitowoc manufacturing company has an international reach.
Dramm Corporation at 2000 N. 18th Street consists of 4 business groups, according to Chairman of the Board, Kurt Dramm. He says those include commercial, retail, organic and the Dramm Water group.
Dramm explains that COVID-19 has really increased demand for their products, resulting in the company not being able to keep up with orders, because of an added home gardening emphasis. They make and market hand-held watering tools, sprinklers & organic fertilizer for gardeners.
Kurt Dramm said they have approximately 60-employees in their 55,000 square foot building but anticipate “expanding by 100,000 square feet” in the I-43 Industrial Park within a year.
Dramm Corporation is in its’ 79th year of operation and the chairman of the board said he’s most proud the family has actually been in business in Manitowoc since 1856, or for 164 years.
Kurt’s great grandfather was a German immigrant who opened a meat market at a location kitty corner to where the Courthouse Pub is now located.
The florist and flower growing business has followed for better than the last three quarters of a century.
