First, she said she didn’t do it, then 22-year-old Jasmine Daniels told investigators it was an accident when she shot her two-year-old daughter.
Daniels says she was “playing around with her gun in the basement” when it went off and Zymeiia Stevens was fatally wounded.
Daniels is charged with first-degree reckless homicide by the Milwaukee County district attorney’s office.
An autopsy discovered the victim had suffered four wounds caused by a single bullet.
Daniels is scheduled to appear in court August 4th.
