Two Rivers officials recently announced a setback in their plans for the future of the city.
According to City Manager Greg Buckley, the planned addition of a Culver’s Restaurant at the corner of Washington and 22nd Streets will no longer be happening.
On the Two Rivers City Hall Facebook page, Buckley voiced his disappointment, saying, “that corner is a prime commercial redevelopment site in our community, and several property owners are impacted by this decision not to proceed.”
The reason for the change of plans was cited as “COVID-related issues” that the developer, Aaron Apt came across.
Buckley also said in the post, “If the various property owners involved are interested in marketing their properties for redevelopment, the City stands ready to assist. There is a newly-created TIF district that can aid in redevelopment in this area of the downtown, as was planned for the Culver’s project. “
