One woman said, “I heard a clunk, and then I turned around, and the car was floating in the river for about a minute, and then all of a sudden the front end went down.”
We stayed on the scene from roughly 6:30 PM until 10:30 PM, and saw the vehicle get pulled from the river.
A member of the State Patrol’s Accident Reconstruction team was also on hand, collecting evidence for evaluation. The Patrolman was investigating marks on the ground both on Maritime Drive and in the parking lot, while crews searched for, and eventually located the vehicle.
