Unemployment rates declined sharply in June for both the City of Manitowoc and Manitowoc County.
In fact- according to the State Department of Workforce Development-both entities come in with a jobless rate of 8.2%, which is down from May’s number of 11.6% (a decrease of 3.4%).
Preliminary June 2020 unemployment data show jobless rates falling in all 34 of the state’s largest cities and 72 counties-including Manitowoc.
Wisconsin’s “seasonally adjusted” unemployment rate was eight-point-five percent-down from May’s number of 12.1% and well below the national number of 11.1%.
