Plans by the Milwaukee Brewers to rename Miller Park Way next year when the name of the team’s home park changes have hit a roadblock.
Miller Park becomes American Family Field in 2021, and the Brewers have petitioned to have the street along the east side of the park changed.
The City of Milwaukee has already given its approval for the new name, but the Village of West Milwaukee is holding out.
The Journal-Sentinel is reporting the village board rejected the name change on a six-to-one vote.
The village also turned down names like Bob Uecker Way and Henry Aaron Way.
17 of the 25 businesses along that stretch of the road told the village they don’t want the change.
