Manitowoc Public Utilities is reminding customers who are behind on their utility bills that the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin is lifting the restrictions on disconnection for non-payment during the pandemic and “Safer At Home” Order-on Saturday (July 25th).
Customers with past due balances could face disconnection unless payments are made to clear past due amounts or payment arrangements are made.
Several options are available-one is MPU’s Minimum Payment Option. A notice printed in red font on the bill indicates the minimum payment amount needed to prevent disconnection.
Customers are also encouraged to set up a deferred payment arrangement.
A third option is contacting the Manitowoc County Human Services Department on seeking assistance through the WHEAP or Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program at 683-4300.
Any other questions or concerns can be addressed by calling Manitowoc Public Utilities at 683-4600 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
If you need in-person assistance a face covering is required in the utility business office.
