The Gumby’s Club for a Cure Golf Outing last weekend was a “fantastic success all things considered” according to founder Rob Roseff.
The 10th annual event was planned to be the largest yet, but COVID-19 made that rather difficult, but they were able to make things work.
Rob told SeehaferNews.com that 80 teams signed up for the two day outing, and 88 volunteers filled 164 volunteer slots.
Roseff said that the 24 item silent auction raised about $8,000 for the club, while the Facebook Live Telethon and Facebook Donation button earned them an additional $7,000.
He did not report on money earned from the entry fees, games on the course, corporate sponsors, apparel and food sales, prior donations or the benefit held at Renegades Bar over the weekend.
Gumby’s Club for a Cure uses all money raised to continue to help local cancer patients.
For all of their hard work, Rob, and his wife Denise were named as the 2019 Tom Drill Volunteers of the Year for the City of Manitowoc.
As a reminder, the pink cash raffle tickets are still on sale, but it will be done at the end of July, while the Football Frenzy Raffle will go through the end of August.
