
A five-run first inning propelled the Manitowoc Bandits to an 11-to-1 victory over the Algoma Guins in Shoreland League baseball action at Municipal Field.
The victory was the 4th in a row for Coach Chris Cisler’s club and kept them unbeaten in league action at 5-0, 7-2 overall.
Luke Mandich started and earned the win by going the first 5-innings, allowing 4-hits and a run with 6-strikeouts. Adam Diedrich relieved and struck-out 4-of-the-7 batters he faced in the game, which was shortened to 7-innings by the 10-run rule.
Offensively, Chris Rohr, Jake Woolsey & A-J Dollinger each had 2-RBI, with Woolsey and Earl Vorpagel getting 2-hits apiece.
The Bandits have a makeup game on the road with the Casco A’s Monday night before returning home to face the A’s again on Wednesday. Both games are scheduled to be broadcast on 107.9FM WOMT and at WOMTRadio.com.
