The Wauwatosa Police and Fire Commission has suspended the officer who has fatally shot three men in the last five years.
Officer Joseph Mensah had already been officially cleared in the first two shootings.
The vote to put him on suspension was taken Wednesday – the day the family of one of the two dead men demanded his termination.
Mensah’s fatal shooting of 17-year-old Alvin Cole is currently being investigated. The incident happened outside Mayfair Mall last February.
An independent investigator has been called in to review two of the shootings.
