
A fire which originated in a garage caused damage to nine other structures in Manitowoc over the weekend.
The fire in the 500 block of South 32nd Street was called into the Manitowoc Fire Department at around 9:00 AM on Saturday, with the caller telling the dispatcher that there were several explosions inside the garage prior to the fire breaking out.
The blaze was burning so hot that several other structure nearby were damaged, and it took fire crews roughly half an hour to bring the inferno under control.
No injuries were reported as all of the residents of the home had escaped prior to the Fire Department’s arrival.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but is believed to be accidental.
