The American Civil Liberties Union is calling on the Sheboygan Police Department to release the body camera footage from an officer involved shooting on July 2nd.
The organization said that releasing the footage would be in the interest of transparency, and would verify they police statements about what happened.
The incident they are referring to took place on July 2nd, when officers responded to a domestic call in the area of South 15th Street and Illinois Avenue.
Officers at the scene reported that 32 year old Kevan Ruffin charged at them with what appeared to be a martial arts weapon, and a Taser did not stop him. Officer Bryan Pray then reportedly shot Ruffin, killing him in the process.
